The procedure begins with harvesting of the hair, which can come from the back of the head, leaving no noticeable hair thinning or scarring at the donor site. The donor hair is prepared under the microscope and prepared for implantation. The final eyebrow shape and position are designed and the recipient hair sites are made. The donor eyebrow hair is typically left at a length that is suitable for the future eyebrow. In this way, the result is immediate and there is minimal downtime. The donor hair is implanted by our transplant experts maintaining the natural shape, direction and density of the perfect eyebrow. Typically around 200-300 hairs are required to recreate the eyebrow. The whole procedure is performed under local anaesthesia and is typically painless. By the end of the procedure, you will be able to appreciate your newly created and perfectly formed permanent eyebrows.
You will be able to return home on the same day after your procedure. You should expect a little irritation for a few days. Most patients are able to return to their normal activities after 3-4 days.
As with all hair transplant procedures, the transplanted hair will fall out over the next few weeks so you may experience some thinning as the hairs enter their resting (telogen) phase. After four months, the eyebrow follicle wake up and enter their growth (anagen) phase and start to grow back.
