Cyst Removal
A cyst is lump that forms underneath the skin. Cysts may appear anywhere on the body and can vary in size. The most common cysts are sebaceous cysts which are commonly found in hair bearing areas such as the scalp, face and back. These cysts contain keratin and can discharge foul smelling white cheesy material. They are thought to arise from blocked sebaceous glands.
Cyst removal is usually performed under local anaesthetic by our experienced plastic surgeons who will perform excision of the cyst. An incision or cut is made over the cyst and it is then removed through this. The incision is then sutured and stitches removed at about one week after treatment.
