What are wrinkles and crows feet?
Wrinkles are lines that develop due to muscle tension and pulling on the skin. They occur in all parts of the body but are usually most noticeable in the face area. The commonest sites that patients approach us for treatment are the forehead, between the eyebrows (called the glabella) and around the eyes, commonly called the crows feet.
When should I seek treatment?
There is no specific age at which these appear or should be treated. Some patients notice them at a young age, while some wait much later. Your doctor will always council you about what treatment is best for you.
Why do I get wrinkles?
There are several reasons. Sometimes it is simple genetics. You might be blessed with a genetic make up that makes your skin age better. Ethnic background is another factor. If you use your facial expressions to communicate that could also contribute. We also know that sun damage will make your skin age quicker.
What can I do to minimise the appearance of wrinkles?
Our expert team at Skin and Follicle will assess your skin and advise you about the best way that will suit your skin type. There are always several options. These include creams, botox, fillers, threads and surgery.
